Out Of The Rain
By Morgan
Out of the rain is a new youth shelter for youth
between the ages of 15 and 25. It will be open
from November to April, to protect homeless
teens from the elements and the dangers of
sleeping on the street. It will rotate around
the city every week. It's doors open at 10 PM,
and the teens are fed dinner, then mats are
laid down for them to sleep on. In the morning
they are fed breakfast and are gone by 7 AM.
This is made possible by the Fernwood NRG and
Beacon Community Services. Out of the rain is
a much needed shelter, because in many of the
local shelters you have to be at least 19 to
get in, and even if they could get in, the
teens would probobly feel much more
comfortable in their own peer group.
Congratulations to the Fernwood NRG and
Beacon Community Services.
